One of the most important part of operating a Macadamia Farm is the Equipment & the Layout of the equipment in the processing shed, whether it be a small system, or large, most important is to get the layout correct right from the start.
A well laid out system, will save time & money.
The things that need to be thought about if you are considering purchasing machinery to process nut are the following:
- What is the maximum amount of trees that we will be processing from (add in future expansion, as this is important)
- What are my existing shed perimeters, or what will be the size of the new shed.
- What power supply will be available.
- How often will the truck come to collect my nut for the Processors (this determines how many silos & size of Loading elevator required)

And lastly – budget.
Metcraft offer the advice, service of preparing drawings of layouts, & offering visit to site for consultation on new & existing processing lines that are looking at upgrading.
After inital discussions, Layouts are drawn in a 2D Autocad Design programme, where the customer can be part of the process.
All drawings require the customer to view & sign off prior to any work commencing
